Anniversary Restoration

I restored of my parents' old wedding pictures for my their Silver Anniversary... Enjoy. =)

  1. was it just an auto-level adjustment? or did you have to manually colour a few things too?

  2. All manual unfortunately. The auto adjustment didn't know what to make of all that orange-red.

    It's a combination of levels, color balance, brightness/contrast, and to my annoyance, selective color.

    Bringing down the reds with color balance gave me some trouble because making her dress white gave the shadows a blue/cyan tint no matter what I did. I had to remove that with selective color. I also cropped and added a slight vignette.

    And that's just color. Smoothing the speckled textures while retaining the edge detail was quite a hassle. =)

    Also there are so many adjustment layers that there was some severe posterization that I couldn't do anything about.

    But it was for their anniversary so oh well...

  3. ok.. that's a lot of things.

    i restored some of my old photographs and a few required only an Auto Levels and it was all done in less than a second.
