A Deserter I'm Not

I took one for the team,
So please, lay off.
Don't accuse me of slacking,
Or not being there when needed.

You guys made a big mess of things,
And left me behind to clean up.
So I did, even though it had personal consequences,
And took much longer than I could afford.

But when I finally caught up,
All ya'll held were presumptions as to my absence.
So the next time you make a mess of things, Ty,
Man up and clean it yourself.

Never, ever abuse the respect people have for you,
And never, ever abuse the respect I have for you.
